On the DVD itself, no extras whatsoever and the film quality is very dated- could have used some touching up. Peabody and the Mermaid" I can guarantee you'll be much happier with those.

If you are after a vintage movie about mermaids try and get your hands on a copy of Glynis John's movies "Miranda" and "Mad about Men" or Anne Blyth in "Mr. Diane Webber appeared in eight cult films, various TV series episodes (Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Peter Gunn), and at least two nudie-cutie loops. I think it was an excuse to have naked women swimming on film. I know suspension of disbelief is healthy when viewing a fantasy film but thats just very poor film making skills on the part of the director. Except they were about as interesting as watching paint dry, only a select few of the "mermaids" had fishtails and did not receive very much screen time, most was devoted to human girls who apparently live in the waters as part of the mermaid school- and the actresses who played these glamorous undines were wearing diving flippers. The main focus is the mermaids themselves- which usually I would be fine with as like I said, mermaids are a huge fixation of mine. The plot line was hardly touched upon, it felt more like it was thrown in as an excuse to give the movie some structure.

Sangster also locates the cave, but mermaids put him under their spell and lure him to his death. Once at the desolate island, Jamison encounters a mermaid queen who leads him to an underwater cave filled with fire pearls.
When Steinhauer disappears, Jamison makes the trip alone, unaware that Milo Sangster, a fellow passenger on the chartered boat, is a ruthless adventurer who has murdered Steinhauer in the hope of getting the fire pearls for himself. Diane worked as a chorus girl and took formal ballet training. She was the daughter of writer/producer Arthur Guy Empey and his wife Marguerite Andrus. His partner, Ernst Steinhauer, is a pearl trader who claims there is a rich supply of fire pearls to be found at Tiburon. Buxom, gorgeous and curvaceous 52' brunette knockout Diane Webber was born Marguerite Diane Empey on July 29, 1932, in Los Angeles, California. Upon receiving reports that strange unclassified creatures, possibly mermaids, have been observed in the coastal waters off Tiburon Island, marine biologist Samuel Jamison agrees to co-finance an expedition to the island.
